Scott P. Sealy, Sr., Chairman of Sealy & Company, provides strategic planning and business development for the firm. During Scott’s tenure with Sealy, he expanded the firm’s commercial real estate operations, with an emphasis on the development, ownership and operation of industrial properties. Over the last 40 years, Scott has helped develop Sealy & Company into a recognized leader in the acquisition, repositioning and ground-up development of regional distribution and industrial facilities. As a result, Sealy and its affiliates have acquired or developed and sold over $1 billion of industrial real estate totaling approximately 30 million square feet, accounting for an annual average return on equity to investors of approximately 29% since 1990. In addition to his real estate interests, Scott is an experienced venture capitalist with business and investment interests in real estate, insurance, oil and gas, telecommunications and technology. He has participated in company design, capital and financing, strategic planning and corporate management. He serves as an advisor and negotiator to companies seeking strategic solutions to business contracts and alliances. He also serves or has served in the following positions:

  • Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR), as a chapter president, a member of the National Board of Directors and a member of its Strategic Planning Committee.

  • Past chairman of Praeses Corporation, a telecommunications management and software development company headquartered in Shreveport, Louisiana. Praeses is one of the largest managers of public and private insurance data in the United States and is now very involved in the new CyberSpace Mission of the U.S. Air Force.

  • Managing Partner of Sealy Energy Resources, L.L.C., an oil and gas partnership with investment interests in oil and gas production in Arkansas, Mississippi, Louisiana and Texas.

  • Parata Systems, one of the largest automated prescription fulfillment companies in the United States, is involved in the development and sales of advanced prescription solutions to the pharmaceutical industry. Scott sourced the venture capital investment in Parata in 2001. Parata is involved in a joint venture with the McKesson Corporation.
